This policy explains what personal information The Code Vendor collects through thecodevendor.com, why we collect it, how we look after it, and the choices and rights you have. We have written it in plain language rather than legal shorthand.
1. Who we are
The Code Vendor is a software engineering practice based in Rajkot, Gujarat, India, operating as the delivery team behind Vivek Nakum's consulting practice. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the data controller for information collected through this website.

2. What information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us, plus limited technical data that is created automatically when you browse.
Information you give us
- Contact enquiries. When you submit our contact form we collect your name, email address and message.
- AI strategy call requests. When you request a call from our AI development page we collect your name, email address, company name (optional), the engagement type you are interested in, and your message. For security and abuse prevention we also record the IP address and browser user-agent used to submit the form.
- Job applications. When you apply through our careers page we collect your name, email address, phone number, years of experience, current designation, any message you write, and the CV or resume file you upload. Your CV may contain further personal details that you have chosen to include, such as your address, education and employment history.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, referring website, device type and browser, collected through Google Analytics only where you have accepted analytics cookies.
- Essential technical data such as your session identifier and a security token, which are needed for the site and its forms to work at all.
We do not ask for, and ask that you do not send us, special category information such as health data, or payment card details through this website.
3. How and why we use it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
We also do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you. Enquiries and job applications are reviewed by people, not by an algorithm.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies. Essential cookies are always active because the site cannot function without them. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) are only set after you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as far as they need it:
- Hosting and email providers that store our website data and deliver enquiry notifications to our inbox.
- Google, for Analytics and Tag Manager (subject to your consent), for reCAPTCHA spam protection, and for the embedded map and web fonts used on the site.
- Professional advisers or authorities, where we are required to do so by law, or to establish or defend legal claims.
6. International transfers
We are based in India and work with clients and applicants around the world, including in the UK, the European Union, the United States and the Gulf region. This means your information may be processed outside your home country. Where information is transferred from the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses used by our service providers.
7. How long we keep information
- Contact and AI enquiries: kept while we are in discussion and for up to 24 months afterwards, so we have context if you come back to us.
- Job applications: kept for up to 12 months from your application so we can consider you for other suitable roles, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Analytics data: retained according to our Google Analytics configuration, in aggregated form.
When information is no longer needed we delete it or anonymise it.
8. How we protect information
The site is served over encrypted HTTPS connections. Enquiry records and uploaded CVs are stored on access-controlled systems: uploaded CVs are held in private storage and are not accessible from any public web address - they can only be opened by authenticated administrators. Access to our admin area is password protected and limited to people who need it. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we take these safeguards seriously and review them as the site changes.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information:
- Access a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your information where we no longer need it.
- Restrict or object to how we use it, including processing based on legitimate interests.
- Portability - receive certain information in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, for anything based on consent such as analytics cookies. This does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, email us at contact@thecodevendor.com. We will respond within one month. You will not be charged, and you will not be treated differently for asking.
If you are in the UK or the EEA and are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your national data protection authority. If you are in India, you may raise a grievance with us using the contact details above.
10. Children
This website is aimed at businesses and professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make a significant change we will make that clear on this page.
12. Grievance Officer
In line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can raise any concern about how we handle your personal data with our Grievance Officer:

We acknowledge grievances within 7 working days and aim to resolve them within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may escalate the matter to the Data Protection Board of India, or to your own supervisory authority if you are in the UK or the EEA.
